How does the free trial work?
After first installation, each domain receives 20 free uses.
What happens after the monthly quota is used up?
You can buy extra usages at any time without waiting.
Can a subscription be canceled anytime?
Yes. Active subscriptions can be canceled anytime in the TYPO3 plugin's Subscription Center via the billing portal. Access remains available until the end of the already paid billing period.
Are there extra costs for additional languages?
No. Generation follows the TYPO3 page language and does not require a separate language surcharge.
Does the plugin support other CMS platforms?
The current focus is fully on TYPO3.
Does ALT text generation also work in the TYPO3 Filelist metadata editor?
Yes. Generation is now integrated in Filelist mode directly in the “Alternative Text” field and works the same way as in the regular content element editor. SEO keywords are placed directly next to the style selector.
Does the plugin help with WCAG and BITV compliance?
barrierefrei.space supports TYPO3 editorial teams in creating consistent ALT text and helps implement WCAG 2.1 and BITV 2.0 requirements for non-text content — particularly with regard to WCAG Success Criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content). The plugin does not replace a full accessibility audit of the website, but it significantly simplifies the editorial workflow for accessible image descriptions.
Where do trial start and subscription happen?
Activation and subscription are completed directly inside the TYPO3 plugin backend, not on this landing page.
How do you handle data protection for uploaded images?
The API processes the resized image only for the concrete request. Images and generated alt texts are not persistently stored by barrierefrei.space. Operational, license, quota, and payment data are processed separately.
How can organizations send feedback, security questions, or procurement questions?
The feedback page prepares a structured email with organization, role, TYPO3 version, and topic.
